Pluggable Component Interface (PCI)
The PCI or Pluggable Component Interface is an internal interface of
ASE.
This interface will be installed during server installation or when upgrading
your current server version.
A sub-component of PCI is the PCI Bridge which has the task to
execute the work between ASE and the
Java Virtual Machine.
To do this, the PCI Bridge provides - among others - an own process, memory, synchronisation
and configuration management, support for data access services and signal and exception
handling, as well as routing of error messages into the ASE error log.
Under normal circumstances, the standard configuration of the PCI Bridge is sufficient,
but can be adapted in coordination with Sybase Technical Support.
The
system procedure
sp_pciconfig
can be used for this task.
